How to Build a Study Schedule That You Actually Follow
Systems beat willpower — design a plan around your real energy, not your ideal self.

The best study schedule is not the most ambitious one — it is the one you still follow on a tired Wednesday. Design for your real energy levels, not your ideal self.
Start from your fixed points
Block classes, meals, sleep, and commute first. Whatever remains is your true study budget — usually far less than students assume, which is exactly why honest planning matters.
Protect a non-negotiable daily minimum
- Pick a floor so small you cannot rationalize skipping it (e.g. 20 MCQs).
- Do it at the same time every day to remove the decision.
- Treat streak > intensity on low-energy days.
Build in recovery, not just work
Schedule rest deliberately. A plan with no slack shatters the first time life interferes; a plan with breathing room absorbs the shock and keeps going.
Motivation gets you started. Systems keep you going when motivation runs out.
